Random Thoughts

Weather
It definitely feels like fall now... but just a week ago I sent the boys to Mom's Day Out in T-shirts, jeans, and no jackets. Today it was sweats and heavy coats! Ethan is anxious to see snow; I'm sure he will get his wish before too long.

Gas Prices
Prices have been steadily falling for the past 4 to 6 weeks, give or take. I was able to fill up the van today in Fairborn, OH for $1.82 a gallon. Yippee!
The Kids
Andrew is just five days shy of being 21-months old. This is only notable because that is EXACTLY the age Ethan was the day Andrew was born. Here are some early pictures of the two of them (Andrew is 3 days old here):
Daddy and the boys then...

...and now.

Politics
I am anxious to see what will transpire from the White House over the next four years. President-elect Obama is much more socially liberal than am I... but I am actually more comfortable with his position on Iraq than I was with John McCain's (however, I did not vote for either of those two candidates). So my guess is that some of his "changes", to borrow from his campaign slogans, will be very good, and some will be very bad. I do pray that God will grant him wisdom.

I read an article today by Ron Paul that reflected a lot of my concerns during this year's election, particularly the need to adhere more closely to our constitution an follow its framers' intentions of limited government: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/11/paul.republican/index.html

Other Stuff...
Ryan's really busy with school, Ethan's enjoying his preschool lessons, Andy's enjoying life in general, and I'm relieved to have another round of once-a-month cooking done. Over the next few weeks, we will dine on beef tips with gravy, chicken and corn chili, a noodle bake, chicken curry, pork tenderloin, and a few other dishes too. Yum!
