Weekend

The kids sure had a couple of late nights this weekend! Friday night was AFMC's (Air Force Materiel Command) Freedom's Call Tattoo; it was a lot of fun but we didn't get home until almost 11:00. There were bouncy castles, ice cream, a lot of Air Force recruiting booths, and plenty of food. Charlie Daniels performed, and the evening wrapped up with fireworks. Our neighbor's dog had a U.S. flag bandana on, so Ethan decided to wear his so he could match Gus (unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of them together).

There were also several aircraft fly-overs, including a replica of the Wright flier (top) and a B-52 (bottom)
Saturday was my birthday! We went out to Olive Garden for dinner- it was a nice treat to have one so close by (when we were in Clovis, the nearest OG was a solid two hour drive away!) Then we went to Homerama, where local high-end builders open newly-finished homes to the public to tour. It is amazing what a million bucks can get you. Our townhouse is about 1200 square feet and there are four units to our building; the smallest home on tour was about 5600 sq. ft. So the smallest home was bigger than our entire building!
Ethan fell in love with one of the homes; he lay down on the plush carpet in a finished walk-in basement and announced- and these were his exact words- "I could get used to this house". Once again we didn't get home till after 9:30, but it was really a fun evening.
