A Day Off

We worked hard getting the house together Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, so by Saturday we were all quite ready for a break. We headed out to Yellow Springs to visit Young's Jersey Dairy. It's a working dairy farm with a petting zoo area, mini golf ("Udders and Putters"), and a restaurant that serves really yummy food.

Now, Ethan is a country boy. Living in a rural area for the past two years where tractors and cows were literally right over our back fence probably honed that! The boy just loves tractors and animals; I think he could have stayed at the farm all weekend!

Andy enjoys climbing on tractors, too.

The shades add a nice touch, don't you think? One part farmer boy, one part beach bum.

Andrew is a little more cautious around all the animals, but he seemed to enjoy himself for the most part.

This farm hosts different events throughout the year; a charity bike ride, a wool gathering, and a classic car show to name a few. This particular weekend they had many different heavy trucks and rescue vehicles on disply for people to see and sit in. Both boys enjoyed that, especially Ethan.

Finally, we took a ride on "Moovers and Shakers", a little train pulled by a tractor. I took both the boys for the first ride, then Ethan went on one or two more rides by himself. We all felt so refreshed after a day away from the chaos of moving in. This will definitely be a spot we visit again during our stay here
