Getting Settled

We are completely out of the town house and have somehow managed to get all of our earthly possessions back under one roof. We had most of our stuff in the townhouse with us, but a few pieces of furniture were in long-term government storage, and other seldom-used, mostly seasonal items were in a self-storage unit we ended up renting. Well, I guess our camper is still on an RV storage lot, but other than all of our stuff is back together. Oh, and my summer maternity clothes were in California until about four days ago...

So anyhooo, we all love it here. We had some friends over last night (sadly, they are all moving to other bases by the end of this week) and all of our children had a blast running around in the big backyard and playing in the inflatable pool and climbing on the swing set. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out... six grownups and several kids were eating on the patio and space was not a problem. This is so awesome! I think we appreciate it so much more for having lived in that little townhouse for a year.

Any move of course, involves those pesky address changes- well, we just updated that with our local Sunday paper. So after church on Sunday we stopped by the old place to pick up our paper from the doorstep. When Andy saw that we were pulling into the old driveway, he started whimpering and said, "Want go to new house! Want go to new house!". We had to convince him that we were JUST stopping to grab the paper.

OTHER TOPICS:

How about Jon and Kate?? I have never been happier to be an ordinary, boring, anonymous person! I just can't wrap my mind around a stupid show being so all-consuming and important that it tears up the family. There may have been other issues too, but still...

Ryan graduated last week with his second master's degree, this time in logistics and earned from the Air Force Institute of Technology. It was an exciting day, and the ceremony was really nice! There were TONS of little kids in the audience so the powers that be kept the ceremony to about 35 minutes. Good call! It's so weird to think that he's done now. He will take this week and next off, then begin his new job after the 4th of July weekend.

In two weeks we should find out whether we are having a boy or a girl! Ethan really wants a sister. I was in Meijer the other day with the boys (a Wal-Mart type store, I guess you'd call it) and while I was looking at summer pajamas for the boys, Ethan grabbed several cute pink sleepers and asked if we could get them for the new baby. I told him we'd better wait till we know for sure what it is, but I do have to say he has good taste; the outfits were very sweet!
