So, we did our farm-sitting tour last month (and into the first week of this month). I thought I could post a "daily farm report" but Mom has dial-up internet access so it just got to be too time consuming.
We gathered LOTS of nice brown eggs, and fed sheep, goats, and a horse. We even trekked way out to the back of the property to check on the beehives one day when the weather was beautiful- all three looked alive and active after the cold winter.
Ethan pretty much took over the feedinf of Ty horse, as Andy called him. I had to help Ethan with the hay, but Ethan learned how to measureout Ty's grain and carefully pour it into the feeder so it wouldn't spill.
We had a wide range of weather. One day the temperature hovered around 35 and it rained ALL DAY, so we did the chores and went to some museums in Kenosha for the rest of the morning and early afternoon. I believe that is my least favorite kind of weather; luckily there was only one day of that. At least three days were 50, or warmer, and sunny.
My brother came over a couple of evenings and as a surprise, we painted my mom's room and replaced all the interior doorknobs. It looks great and she was thrilled to see all the improvements. We worked on the room for four nights and never seemed to reach that "good stopping point" until around 2:30 in the morning- tiring, but the results were fantastic!
I brought all my scrapbooking stuff with the idea of making lits of progress in the evenings after the boys were in bed, but I never touched it. Oh well. We had fun, and Mom had a wonderful trip to visit Leslie and her family. Pictures later...
