Learning New Things

This is a month of learning for us! At this point we're all enrolled in some kind of class:

Grad school
Ryan, of course, is in the thick of his studies. He has a 22 page take-home midterm to complete this week. This quarter wraps up in April and then he only has one more quarter to go!

Tumbling
The boys have been taking tumbling lessons once a week for about a month now, and really seem to be enjoying it. They are perfecting their somersaults, having more trampoline time, and learning a few moves towards doing handstands and cartwheels. Naturally Ethan is far ahead of Andy in most areas, but Andy can make his way acrosss a floor-level balance beam at a pretty impressive rate of speed. Maybe that's because he's so close to the ground to begin with!

Cake decorating
I am taking a cake decorating class at a local Michael's store this month! I'll get in three lessons before Andy's birthday, so hopefully I can make a neat cake for him (it will probably have an Elmo theme). Last night's lesson was about baking and preparing the cake itself so that it's level, not lumpy, and making the icing and spreading it on the cake. I feel like I learned some pretty good basics from that- am excited to learn how to make flowers and stars next week.
