Ryan wrapped up his last few days of leave this weekend (he's been off for two weeks). It took a few days to get used to having him around all the time, but I have to say it's going to be really quiet here without him tomorrow. Some highlights of his leave included the birthday trip to Sumner Lake, and a camping trip to Oasis State Park that he and Ethan took one night last week.
Yesterday was beautiful- some wind, but an afternoon high of around 75 degrees. We all went for a run yesterday morning and Ryan went (motorcycle) riding with a friend while the boys napped. I also made a "blackout" curtain for the boys' room because the afternoon sun has been making their room unbearably bright and hot while they nap; this keeps it nice and dark and much cooler!
Last evening, the "OC" (that's what we all call our neighborhood, since we live on Oklahoma Court) had a pot-luck cookout. Those are always a lot of fun- we hang out at someone's front yard while all the kids play together. Ethan has really begun to hold his own with the big kids. Last night he was jumping on the Killion's trampoline with Hunter W. and Andrew P., who are about 8 years old, and they were all jumping up and down together and counting to ten. Very cute!
Tonight is another story altogether! This morning dawned sunny and warm- it was sunny and 68 degrees when we got home from church- but by the time we put the boys to bed it had dropped to 28 degrees with snow, and 40 - 60 MPH winds! We may have four inches of snow by morning, they say. Unfortunately I do have a couple of errands I have to do tomorrow, otherwise we'd just stay home and snuggle up with some hot cocoa and books.
I will try to post some snow pictures tomorrow!
